![]() Even when he reabsorbed it, he still looked like he was going to activate ‘soup mode’ any moment now. Odo wanted to retort, but his hand melted off his wrist and plopped against the floor. ‘I would love to keep playing this little game of ours, but it doesn’t look like you’re going to survive until the end of it.’ For once.’ And that you punched a Nausicaan in the jaw with enough force to make him stumble, despite the dangers involved. I have to say, I’m rather impressed that you actually stood up for your brother. ‘How was your trip to Doctor Bashir?’ Odo asked, somehow still able to convey a lot of smugness despite his melting face. ‘Did bartending really take it out of you? Again?’ ‘You look awful.’ Quark said, breaking the silence. Aside from the usual background noise, the only thing to be heard was viscous goo slowly dripping onto the floor. It would make carrying you back a lot easier.’Īfter their brief exchange, they went silent. ![]() I don’t know how it would work, but you could lose a little weight. ‘I was just carrying you back to your quarters. ‘Good to see you’re still paranoid about everything,’ Quark said. It was a little unsettling, to be honest. His hair was one big blond mass, there was no iris for the pupils, and he had no nails to speak of. The regeneration was clearly meant to last a little longer, because most of the details were wrong. ‘Where were you planning on taking me?’ Odo asked, launching into an interrogation immediately. Just as he was thinking that carrying this box all the way to Odo’s quarters was a terrible idea, the goop inside leaked out and reformed into a painfully familiar humanoid. He had just made his way out of the bar when his arms were already getting tired. Moryas may be in the brig, but I’m sure someone else on this station has it out for you. ‘Alright, the bar is no place to be… regenerating. It wasn’t quite as heavy as a box full of water, but it still wasn’t an easy lift. With a sigh, Quark lifted the box into his arms. Since Odo wasn’t taking the bait, this had to have been a full-on regeneration. And loaded with an unbearable amount of pressure. ‘Well, if it makes you feel any better, I don’t think I’m built for security work either. Heck, Quark wasn’t entirely sure if it was capable of listening. Probably because it was just a puddle of goo that was incapable of speech. ‘You really weren’t built for a bartender’s life, were you?’ ‘Couldn’t even make it back to your quarters, huh?’ Quark said. That was until he stepped around the bartop, and saw a cheap box - filled with golden goo - resting on the floor. Quark groaned a few seconds, already bracing himself for a ‘fun’ game of ‘Find the Changeling’. The Changeling in question was seemingly gone. ‘But I was a little busy dealing with… Odo?’ ‘Sorry I missed our lovely conversations today, Odo,’ He said, waltzing right on through like he owned the place (which he did, in a sense). There wasn’t really anything else to look out for, because there were hardly any people on the promenade at this time. So, he stepped out of the office and headed straight for the bar. After the little ‘scare’ with Rom, he hadn’t had much time for his rounds. When it was time for the bar to close, Quark tossed his PADD aside. While Odo was running himself ragged at the bar, Quark was boring himself to death with more criminal reports while simultaneously fearing for his life. As normal as this entire situation could possibly play out, at least. Up until the nameless bar was set to close, everything went as ‘normal’. Julian fixed Rom’s injury like it was nothing (and with Rom crying through the whole thing), and Quark’s little concussion wasn’t too serious. ![]() The trip to the infirmary wasn’t too bad. Alright, I don’t think you’re going to be of much help here.’ Of course I do! Fun is… well, it’s… I’ve heard other people mention having fun and- … wait a moment… it’s some sort of sexual reference!’ 'Do you know what it means when most people say it?' Though in a place like this, 'games' may be a stretch. The night the ‘incident’ happened, we had a bit of… fun.’ She’s been a pain ever since I arrived at this station, and now that I’m in charge of this investigation, well…’ ‘Know anything about… Nerys, I think her name was. ‘Sir, I wasn’t even thinking about that until you brought it up. Everyone assumes it’s always me when someone dies.’ Maybe you were around when… something happened to that poor Bajoran.’ Look, you have a habit of disappearing on us.
